Buttermere Fence

Temperatures had been below freezing for a few days when I arrived on a cold Winter morning to take this shot.

There is always a different atmosphere when the lakes freeze and so it proved here, perhaps a little comes through in the picture.

The extraordinary light at the far end of the lake was but a brief moment with the Sun so low in Winter.
