Old Capstan
Situated on Whitehaven's West Pier this relic of the great days of sail is sadly no more due to vandalism.
Just pleased I took this photo, which has become a popular picture, when I did.

Technical Observations:
The pink colour in the sky is due to a combination of evening light, long film exposure and an 81C warming filter.
Digital Camera pictures are shot RAW, adjusted and converted to Tiffs. Film Camera pictures are scanned from slides or negatives into 48 bit Tiffs.
The resulting Tiffs are adjusted for composition, levels and colour, converted to jpgs, sized and sharpened using digital darkroom software.
