Boot in Eskdale
Not an auspicious March day by any means but perhaps typical overcast weather in this part of the world and at this time of year.
Boot village is often overlooked by tourists heading off to more heady delights found on Hardknott Pass, which is just a mile or so up the valley to the left of this scene, but is well worth a visit.
A quick scramble up the fell side gave me the height necessary to achieve the object of this shoot which was to photograph Boot in its environment. It is a small hamlet and could be accommodated easily within the parameters of a detailed landscape picture.

Technical Observations:
A warm up filter was used to bring out the bracken colour and a graduated grey filter was used to hold detail in the sky.
Digital pictures are shot RAW, adjusted and converted to Tiffs. Film pictures are scanned from slides or negatives into 48 bit Tiffs.
All resulting Tiffs are adjusted for composition, levels and colour, converted to jpgs, sized and sharpened using digital darkroom software.
