An extremely popular place, in season these flanks and approaches to Helvellyn are flooded with people.

The infamous Striding Edge lies off to the left of scene a little of which can be seen moving up to the Helvellyn summit. In the summer months queues form to take this crossing and in bad weather many have slipped and fallen to their deaths.

The pathway at right of scene comes off Swirral Edge a less attractive edge walk but perhaps even more dangerous than its famous neighbour.
