Ullswater

O.K. so you normally come off the motorway at Penrith and head west toward Keswick, fine, but take a left off the A66 and head into Ullswater area, drive the lake length to Kirkstone Pass and finish up at Ambleside.

This route provides a great start to a Lakeland visit with unsurpassed views. I'm not with the tourist board it's just a good picturesque route!
