Glenridding

The start of an extremely popular walk from Glenridding Village on the shores of Ullswater to Helvellyn via Red Tarn. A quick glance back after the steep initial climb has led to the making of this picture.

Technical Observations:

I decided on portrait format to narrow the field of view and cascade concentration through the scene, with a grad grey filter holding detail in the sky and a mild warm up used to bring out the rustic colours.

Digital camera shots are RAW. Film camera shots are scanned from slides or negatives and resulting digital files are adjusted for sharpness, composition, levels and colour on a computer using digital darkroom software.
