Home of Wastwater the deepest lake, St. Olaf's the smallest church and Scafell Pike the highest fell.
A quite magical place which many Lakeland visitors do not get to see, situated as it is with Western road access.
The view exemplified in 'Wastwater' was voted Britain's favourite view by viewers of a Television programme in 2007, perhaps more people visit Wasdale than at first thought.
