Wastwater Reflective Calm

Fells in the picture from left to right, Yewbarrow, skirting Kirkfell to Great Gable in the centre and to the right lies Lingmell and the Hollow Stones route to Scafell Pike, ah yes Scafell Pike just out of scene.

There is a slight pinkness in the sky caused by the sunset starting to happen behind me in the west, minutes later of course this furious calm had gone.

Technical Observations:

A graduated grey filter was used to retain detail in the sky and this has darkened the sky area too much.

Look at any water reflection with the naked eye and the reflection will always be darker than the actual scene, here the situation has been reversed.

Not, in this case an unattractive result I feel.

Digital Camera pictures are shot RAW, adjusted and converted to Tiffs. Film Camera pictures are scanned from slides or negatives into 48 bit Tiffs.

The resulting Tiffs are adjusted for composition, levels and colour, converted to jpgs, sized and sharpened using digital darkroom software.
